F. Scott Fitzgerald

Popular culture of the 1920s: Fashion

Women's fashion in the 1920s was a rejection of  Victorianism instead it was the embracement of  youth, and frivolity. The women no longer desired to dress or act like the older generation. Instead, the embraced their youth, and enjoyed life. They tried to look even younger by choosing clothes that did not emphasize women's curves. To look younger their hair was styled short, with curls. Eyebrows were made thinner to emphasize a young  face. Makeup was added around the eyes to make them look younger and larger. Ankle-strap cuban heeled shoes were the most popular heeled shoe during this time.

 F. Scott Fitzegerald´s rise to fame:

F. Scott Fitzgerald defines his time period because in his novels he showed the joys of luxuries, wealth and success.  Fitzgerald actually lived all of it thats why he managed to show it in his novels. When people think of the 1920s they think of The Great Gatsby and how he managed to show that era as it really was because he experienced it himself.
